Sewing instructions
General steps to sew this garment. Seam allowance is 1 cm (3/8") unless stated otherwise.
Supplies
- Woven fabric (cotton, linen, poplin…)
- Invisible zipper
- Fusible interfacing
- Matching thread and the right needle
- Prewash and press your fabric before cutting so it will not shrink after sewing.
- Print the pattern at 100%, check the test square and cut the pieces following the cutting list. Transfer notches, darts and button marks.
- Sew the darts from the edge to the point, tie off without backstitching and press them toward the center.
- Insert the invisible zipper in the back or side seam and close the rest of the seam.
- Sew the side seams right sides together and press open or finish the allowances.
- Interface the waist facings, attach them to the skirt, turn and understitch so they stay inside.
- If you chose a back vent, fold it and stitch it diagonally at the top.
- Hem: double-fold to the inside, press and topstitch or blind stitch.
