Sewing instructions

General steps to sew this garment. Seam allowance is 1 cm (3/8") unless stated otherwise.

Supplies

  • Swim elastic and swim lycra
  • Matching thread and the right needle
  1. Print the pattern at 100%, check the test square and cut the pieces following the cutting list. Transfer notches, darts and button marks.
  2. Cut with the greatest stretch running horizontally (around the body). Use pattern weights instead of pins so the knit does not distort.
  3. Line each cup, sew the edges with elastic and turn.
  4. Make the ties (turned tubes or folded strips), sew them in place and test the fit.
  5. Sew swim elastic to the wrong side of the neckline, armholes and leg openings with slight stretch; fold it over and zigzag.
